SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Investigators are looking for the people who robbed 10 campers during an annual Thanksgiving camp out. The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said the crime occurred early Sunday morning in the woods off of Campbell Drive.
“The victims stated they were sitting around their campfire when they saw five people come into their camp brandishing various types of weapons demanding wallets, cash and cell phones,” Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office Capt. Mike Harvey said in an email. “A couple of the victims were also punched or kicked though no one required emergency medical treatment.”
Harvey said the victims ranged in age from 16 – 21. He said the suspects got away with cash.
The area where the crime occurred is “known to the neighborhood and is commonly used for camping,” Harvey said.
