RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – GRTC Transit System riders need to be aware of marathon runners this weekend. Some bus service will be disrupted Saturday as a result of the Anthem Richmond Marathon.
“People who plan to ride the bus that Saturday need to check the three routes of the Marathon events at the Marathon website,” GRTC Public Relations Manager Joan Straszewski wrote in an email. “The proposed routes are fixed; however, history has shown that bus detours can vary during the day due to shifting crowd control needs.”
Service disruptions are anticipated between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
“Delays will occur as bus operators respond to detours, which can change throughout the marathon,” Straszewski said. “Riders are requested to plan ahead for these delays and to be patient if they occur.:
