VCU baseball coach Paul Keyes died Saturday morning after a battle with cancer.
Keyes took a leave of absence in April to focus on his health.
He spent 18 seasons with the Rams and led them to eight NCAA tournaments and five CAA championships.
Keyes was a four-time CAA Coach of the Year and was the all-time winningest coach in school history with 603 victories.
36 of his former players played professional baseball….including six in the Major Leagues.
Keyes is survived by his wife Trisha and three children.
Paul Keyes was 50 years old.
