HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – An off-duty Henrico Police Officer was injured in a morning hit and run accident, according to Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney.

The officer was driving his personal motorcycle east bound on East Williamsburg Rd. near Technology Blvd. when a tractor-trailer, heading the same direction, changed lanes and ran the off-duty officer off the road, Toney said.

The officer, 33, was injured and taken to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition. The accident happened around 11:30 a.m.

Police described the truck as an 18-wheel tractor-trailer with a faded red cab. Toney said the truck was hauling logs at the time of the accident.

Police asked anyone who saw the accident to call Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
