HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - A 16-year-old boy drowned at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Friday night, according to Henrico Police. The exact circumstances that lead to the drowning are still under investigation. Henrico Police say the victim may have hit his head while diving into the pool.

"I'm sorry for this kid," June Ross, who lives behind Crowne Plaza, said.

On their website, the Crowne Plaza lists an indoor pool as one of their amenities.

Authorities said the death was accidental.

CBS 6 reporter Jake Burns went into the hotel to ask them for comment about Friday night's incident.  He was told to contact the Henrico Police Department.

"It seems like there should be more parental advisement when you go to hotels and stuff like that," Ross stated.

Since the drowning victim was a juvenile, police have not released his name.
