RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Hundreds from across the Commonwealth came to Richmond to get Dominion to bring clean solar and wind power to Virginia.
They're asking the company to "earn their bonus" and construct new facilities, instead of using preexisting ones to earn a reward offered by the state government.
One protester emphasized the use of fossil fuels on children.
"Richmond, the two of the last three years has been the asthma capital of America, the highest asthma rate in the state," a protester said, "linked directly to particular matter and other pollutants from fossil fuels."
Dominion gave statements in the past saying they are committed to goals set forth by the state on renewable energy.
