A disturbance we’ve been tracking over the central Atlantic over the past several days became Tropical Depression Seven this afternoon, and will likely strengthen into Tropical Storm Gordon in the next 24 to 48 hours. High pressure over the Atlantic north of the system and troughing over the eastern U.S. will likely keep this system on a southerly track over the next week or so. The track actually could end up being very similar to where Ernesto traveled. You can get frequent updates on the latest in the tropics on my facebook page. -Zach
