HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Police said an overturned truck carrying paint has closed a ramp from Route 360 to I-295 in Hanover County.
Virginia State Police said the crash happened just after 1 p.m. Tuesday on the onramp from Route 360 westbound to Interstate 295 southbound.
Sgt. Thomas Molnar said the crash happened when the 65-year-old driver of the big rig ran off the left side of the road.
The truck, which overturned, was hauling water soluble paint and water in containers that were on the back of the truck. Approximately 200 gallons of paint spilled out of the containers when the truck overturned.
David Kao, of Fremont, Ohio, suffered minor injuries in the crash. He was charged with reckless driving. Speed is considered a factor in the crash.
As of 4 p.m., the ramp was closed while crews worked to unload the paint and water into other containers and to upright the truck.
Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
