RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) – Bridge work will continue along 95 North and South this week in the heart of the city. We’ve seen serious delays overnight and early in the morning while crews have been making repairs between Hermitage and Boulevard. Here’s the details for tonight and tomorrow morning:
Aug. 6 (Monday) I-95 north/south (Richmond) – From 8 p.m. Monday through 6 a.m. Tuesday, the left and center lanes will be closed in both directions between the Lombardy Street bridge (mile marker 77) and Laburnum Avenue (mile marker 79) as crews move concrete barriers and equipment in preparation for northbound bridge replacements. Drivers will merge into the right lane. Expect major delays along I-95. Use I-295, Route 288 and the Downtown Expressway (toll)/I-195 to bypass the construction.
Aug. 7 (Tuesday) I-95 south (Richmond) – From 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., the right lane will be closed on I-95 south between Laburnum Avenue (mile marker 79) and Boulevard (mile marker 78) for construction activities at the Hermitage Avenue and Boulevard bridges. Expect delays.
