A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for most of central and southern Virginia, including the Richmond metro area until 10 PM.
Scattered strong to severe storms will continue to develop across southern and western Virginia this afternoon, and will move eastward across the state.
The strongest storms will be capable of winds to 70 mph and 1″ diameter hail.
