RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -Two women shot during a morning robbery are in stable condition, according to an email from Richmond Police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh.
Waugh said police are looking for two men in connection with the shooting that occurred along the 1100 block of North 27th Street around 1:37 a.m. Monday.
“Robbery was the motive for this morning’s shooting. This was not a random act. The residence in which the shooting occurred was targeted. The women were not shooting at each other," Waugh wrote.
Overnight investigators and Richmond's CSI team were on scene collecting evidence.
James Daniels, who lives in the area where the shooting happened, said he heard the commotion.
"I didn't see nothing, I just heard the gunshots," said Daniels. "By the time I looked out the window, the police were out there."
Another neighbor, LaTashia Alexander told CBS 6 she was not surprised by the overnight ordeal.
"Thank God we're moving at the end of this month, because that house has been a to-go spot," said Alexander. "It's never been a good view, always have the wrong crowd."
Police described the suspects as "black males with medium complexions, about 5’8” to 5’9” feet tall, approximately 30 years old with short hair."
Police said they had leads, but encouraged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
