HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Police are investigating a homicide after they found the body of a black male, in his mid-30's in the back yard of a home at 20th and Carroll Streets near the Henrico County-Richmond line. Henrico Police told CBS 6 they were called to this location around 6:10 a.m.
Henrico Police Lt. Linda Toney said police are conducting a homicide investigation.
About 45 minutes earlier, Henrico police were called to investigate a separate death at Elberon Court off East Laburnum Avenue. Police do not believe the two incidents are related.
Police told CBS 6 they do not consider the Elberon Court death suspicious, however there is crime scene tape up around the home.
Detectives said when they went to notify the family members of the man killed near Carroll and 20th Streets, an aggressive dog charged at them. Officials said they were forced to shoot and kill the animal.
