HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - A man injured in a Friday morning fire is listed in stable condition at the hospital. The man, who firefighters said is in his 20's, suffered burns and smoke inhalation.
Henrico firefighters were called to the 8600 block of Henrico Ave. near Ridge Rd. around 3:00 a.m. Friday.
Investigators said the fire started in the garage while the man was working on a scooter. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The fire, which destroyed the two-car garage, spread to the attic. The house sustained minor smoke and water damage, Henrico Fire Capt. Jim Mellon said.
Due to the morning heat and humidity, extra fire crews responded to the house to help crews that were battling the fire, Capt. Mellon added.
