Robious Middle School arsonist to be sentenced

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – The man who pleaded guilty to breaking into Robious Middle School last summer and setting a fire there is set to learn how much time he’ll spend behind bars.

Robert Altizer is set to be sentenced in a Chesterfield County courtroom at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon.

His attorney claims the arson was a prank that quickly spiraled out of control. Police say surveillance video of Altizer at the scene led to his arrest.

He faces 60 years in prison and more than $2 million in fines.
