RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Police arrested a Richmond woman in connection to the weekend stabbings of two sisters, according to a press release from Richmond Police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh.
Monita Cunningham, 48, is charged aggravated assault. Waugh said further charges are pending.
Rakita McClenny, 29, died as a result of the early Sunday morning stabbing. Her body was discovered along the 300 block of Swansboro Lane in South Richmond. Another stabbing victim, found along the 3000 block of Hull Street, suffered life-threatening injuries. The Hull Street victim is now listed in stable condition.
Detectives believed the women had an argument leading up to the stabbing, Waugh said.
