RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond gas prices dropped 6.3 cents per gallon in the past week, according to gasoline price website RichmondGasPrices.com. The website reported the average price for a gallon of gas is now $3.49. Nationally, the average price is $3.70 per gallon.
Gas prices around Richmond are 33 cents lower than last month, 27 cents lower than last year.
“With Memorial Day a week away, it’s time to put to bed an old myth that gasoline prices rise ahead of a major holiday,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. “Average gasoline prices will likely continue to decline in the days ahead of Memorial Day.
