FREE BEVERAGES:   Teacher Appreciation Week: Richmond area McDonald’s are saying “thank you” to all teachers with free McCafe beverages the week of May 7th to 11th.    When placing your order, say you`re a teacher and show a school I.D. . One free beverage; coffee, frappe, smoothie, etc.  per person per visit .

FREE PIZZA: Domino’s Artisan Pizza Giveawayis back.  They’re giving away 15-thousand of ’em on May 2nd and another 15-thousand on May 3rd. .  Check ’em out on Facebook to get yours.

FREE ADMISSION:  Celebrate Cinco De Mayo at the 10th annual Que Pasa Festival; this year at the Canal Walk in Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom.  Sat. May 5 11a.m. to 7p.m with free boat rides, live music and performances, food and arts and crafts.

FREE COMICS:   Saturday May 5th is the annual Free Comic Book Day all around the world. Several Richmond area stores are participating.  Click HERE for a store locator and more info.

FREE ADMISSION:  Free admission as Maymont’s Japanese Garden hosts The Richmond Taiko Drummers Sunday, May 6 in the Japanese Garden at 1:30 and 2:30.   On Wednesday May 9th, enjoy a Richmond Shakespeare production of ‘A Midsummer Night`s Dream’ at 7pm on the Carriage House Lawn. FREE SKATE PARK FUN:  Free admission,  Free skate, free pizza, free t-shirts at the 5th annual Goochland X-treme Sports event on Saturday May 5.   Sponsored by the County Parks and Rec, it’s from 1p.m. to 4p.m. at the “522 Skateboard Park” at 1800 Sandy Hook Rd. in Goochland.  There will  also be demonstrations and live music. FREE ADMISSION:  41st annual “Arts in the Park” Show and Sale featuring 450 artists from across the U.S.   May 5, 11-6p.m. and May 6, 11-5p.m.at the Byrd Park Carillon. There’s also free parking and free shuttles from City Stadium.  [More info HERE.]

FREE FESTIVAL:  With free admission, The 15th annual Asian American Festival is Saturday, May 5 at the Richmond Convention Center at 4th and Broad in downtown Richmond.  Food, cultural exhibits, live entertainment and workshops from 11a.m. to 7p.m. [More information HERE.]

FREE ICE SKATING SHOW:  SkateNation Plus on Pouncey Tract Rd. presents a free figure skating performance on Saturday May 5 at 5:15-6:30p.m. Donations will be accepted to benefit Isaac, a little boy with a rare illness.  Details HERE.

FREE JAZZ: The Virginia Museum has free admission to it’s Jazz Cafe program every Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Upcoming performances include the Forte Jazz Trio (5/3) and the Jim Branch Quartet (5/10), Against All Odds Band (5/17), Anthony Dowd Quartet (5/24), Skip Gailes Quartet (5?31), Joe Scott w/ Virgil Braxton (6/7) .  Jazz Cafe and general VMFA Museum admission are always free.

FREE LESSON: Check out a free introductory lesson, ice skating or ice hockey at either SkateNation Plus in Short Pump or Richmond Ice Zone in Midlothian.

LOTS OF FREE STUFF: How about getting and giving stuff free? The Freecycle Network is made up of nearly five thousand groups and nearly 70-thousand members around the world who are getting and giving away stuff free. Membership is free It’s a great way to recycle, get rid of items you don’t want, and get things you do.
