WEATHER BLOG: Storms Developing This Afternoon

An increasingly warm and humid atmosphere over Virginia has resulted in an unstable environment, and with an approaching mid-level disturbance, scattered strong to severe thunderstorms appear likely across central and southern Virginia.  The most intense storms will be capable of producing hail larger than quarters and wind gusts over 60 mph.  A severe thunderstorm watch could be issued for the area within the next hour or two. -Zach
