CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A Chesterfield County man is charged with driving under the influence after hitting two police cars Wednesday night, according to a press release from the Chesterfield County police department.
Police said on April 25, around 10:30 p.m., a Chesterfield Police sergeant found a crashed car near Falling Creek on Jefferson Davis Hwy.
When the sergeant pulled up, the driver of the car rammed the sergeant’s vehicle and drove off, police said.
Less than a mile away the suspect turned onto Swineford Rd. and hit another police car that was waiting for the suspect to drive by, police said. Officers arrested the driver.
The driver, who police identified as Courtney Jean Orelein, 22, was taken to Chippenham Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer in the second car was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital. The sergeant involved in the first crash was not hurt.
Orelein was charged with driving under the influence. Police said they expect to charge him with more crimes as the investigation continues.
