COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WTVR) - A ruptured propane tank that blew out of a rack outside the Walmart at South Park in Colonial Heights prompted a brief evacuation of the store, Colonial Heights Assistant Fire Chief David Salot to CBS 6 senior reporter Wayne Covil.
Salot said the tank, like one you would use in a gas grill, landed in the parking lot about 30 feet away. No one was injured.
The fire department check out the air quality inside the Walmart store before letting customers back inside. The store was closed between 20 and 30 minutes.
The cause of the tank rupture is under investigation.
