PORTLAND, Ore. (WTVR) - The 12-seed VCU Rams won a close game against the 5-seed Wichita State University Shockers Thursday night in Portland.

The Rams opened up an early lead, then fought off a Wichita State comeback late to win the game 62-59.

VCU guard Darius Theus scored the game's final two points. The 6'3" sophomore hit a floater in the lane over Wichita State's 7-foot center to give the Rams a three point lead.

"I knew I had to float it high over him," Theus recalled after the game. "It was a blessing. I got a lucky bounce and the ball just rolled in."

The Rams advanced to the Round of 32 where they will face Indiana University.

The game will be played in Portland, Ore on Saturday night at 7:10 p.m.
