Shaka Smart and the VCU Rams talk about NCAA Tournament win over Wichita State

PORTLAND, Oregon (WTVR) – The VCU Rams won their opening round game in the 2012 NCAA Tournament defeating Wichita State University 62-59 Thursday night in Portland, Oregon.

The Rams sprinted out to a big first half lead, then held on at the end as the Shockers outscored the Rams in the second half to make it a close game.

In the end Wichita State missed a contested three-point shot at the buzzer that would have tied the game.

After the game, VCU Rams head coach Shaka Smart talked about the win.
