HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Henrico County police arrested a 21-year-old man they said used Facebook to meet young girls in an attempt to have sex with them.
Jaime Del Sid Castro, 21, is charged with seven counts of using a computer to commit certain sex offenses.
Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Eric Owens said police started to investigate Castro on Feb. 3 when officials at Byrd Middle School became aware of an “inappropriate relationship” between Castro and a student.
Police determined Castro contacted the 12-year-old girl on Facebook. Owens said once the girl’s parents became aware of Castro, the contact with their daughter stopped.
But the police investigation continued.
Police said it wasn’t long until Castro contacted another girl for sex.
Officers arrested Castro at Short Pump Town Center earlier this month when they say he arrived at the mall to meet an 11-year-old girl.
