RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Farmville-native Angus Wall won an Academy Award Sunday night for film editing. Wall, along with Kirk Baxter, edited ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.’

The duo won the same award last year for editing ‘The Social Network.’

Following last year’s win, Wall told the Farmville Herald growing up watching films at the State Theater in Farmville helped form his love for movies.

“We went to the movies all the time,” Wall recalled of his early years in Farmville. “Back then there was only one movie theater in town, the State Theater. It was always a treat – I remember seeing Star Wars there.” [Read more]

Wall’s sister told CBS 6 her brother attended middle school at Fork Union Military Academy and High School at Woodberry Forest in Farmville.
