RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Gas prices in Richmond could jump 20 cents by this time next week, according to GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.

"I expect stations to increase prices as much as 5 - 20 cents per gallon by the conclusion of the weekend with some stations starting to raise prices immediately," DeHaan said in a press release.

DeHaan said a refinery fire in Washington state has caused prices to increase significantly on the West Coast. He said prices jumped 30 to 45 cents today in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.

According to RichmondGasPrices.com, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Richmond is $3.50. That is 5 cents below the national average, but 45 cents more than the average price last year at this time.
