HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Henrico County Public Schools’ proposed budget for the next school year has a $26 million dollar budget gap.
As a result, the superintendent wants to eliminate about 38 teaching positions.
Those should be absorbed through attrition, and the superintendent’s plan calls for all full-time teachers to keep their jobs next year.
However, the number of students to teacher is expected to increase.
Parents at Mills Godwin High School tonight told CBS 6 their thoughts on the potential budget cuts.
The budget will go before the school board for final approval on Feb. 23.
