RICHMOND, VA (WTVR) – Police closed off West Franklin Street between Jefferson Street and Belvidere Street in Richmond, Virginia Friday afternoon after a man refused to come out of his apartment.

Richmond Police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh told WTVR.com that police responded to a disturbance call of a man yelling just after 1 p.m.

The man barricaded himself inside his apartment in a building along the 300 block of West Franklin Street.

Police tried unsuccessfully to get the subject to come out.
