HANOVER COUNTY, VA (WTVR) – One man was killed in an accident Tuesday evening in Hanover County.
The sheriff’s office identified the victim as Joseph Hummel, 28, of Hanover.
Sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Mike Trice said Hummel drove a 1996 Honda off Bell Creek Road near AMF Road around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The vehicle hit and tree and Hummel died at the scene, according to Trice.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
A passenger in the car was treated at VCU Medical Center. That person’s injuries were not released.
