RICHMOND, Va. -- A VCU employee turned YouTube starhas beenusing gardening to help his viewers with their mental health.

Randy Battle, who calls himself Skinny Boy Randy, took some time on Monday to speak about the therapeutic nature of gardening.

"Today I just want to motivate you to get out and grow something whether you like tomatoes, potatoes, corn, squash, zucchini, you can grow it right now, you guys so plant a seed in the ground, get something going, it doesn't take much," Battle said. "All you have to do is get up and do it. You guys come on, grow something today. It is healthy for you. It's very therapeutic. And I guarantee you you'll love it"

Battle said that growing vegetables and plants and spending time outdoors is rewarding and motivating, and encouraged viewers to start with just one plant.
