RICHMOND, Va. -- Daphne Maxwell Reid is a Richmond-area entrepreneur known by some as Aunt Viv from the hit 1990s television series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." In her Monday Motivation, Reid shared the three words by which she lives her life.
I have been blessed with a wonderful life and have realized that my blessings are only manifest by my actions.
Some may know me from my acting career, some may know me through my work as a photographic artist, with books and note cards of photos of doors from around the world, some of you may know me through my community involvement in education, the arts, and the humanities, and some of you don't know me at all.
Until today.
I want to encourage you to live your life, as I have, with PIP: passion, integrity and purpose.
Through my photography, I encourage you to explore 'doors' as a metaphor for life.
They represent craftsmanship, opportunity, adventure, curiosity, and beauty.
By noticing doors, you begin to focus on the details around you as you travel your life's journey.
Those details are what make that journey very rich.
