PHOENIX — Authorities in Arizona say a Phoenix police officer was shot during an incident in a West Valley neighborhood Tuesday.
Police say the incident occurred near 43rd Avenue and Baseline Road around noon.
The officer was taken to the hospital, according to officials.

The officer was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is now reportedly in stable condition.
Police say the female officer was shot "multiple times" and that her bulletproof vest most likely saved her life.
Early word is that the officer is in stable condition.

Two people have reportedly been detained but their exact involvement is still unknown. It's unclear if either of those people is believed to be the shooter.
Police say the officer shot has been with the department for 19 years. Her name hasn't been released.
