Police investigating after men found shot on I-64

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are investigating a double shooting on Richmond’s East End that sent two men to the hospital Tuesday night.

Gene Lepley with Richmond Police said officers were called to l-64 east and Nine Mile Road by Henrico Police just after 11:20 p.m.

"Upon arrival, they encountered two adult males who had each been shot," Lepley said.

Police said the men, who had injuries that were not life-threatening, were taken to an area hospital.

Officials believe the shooting happened just before 11:10 p.m. in Creighton Court. That is when police received a report about random gunfire.

Police do not yet have a description of the suspect.
