RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond record shop Steady Sounds is closing their doors after 10 years of selling records in Richmond's Arts District.
The shop located at 322 W Broad St. announced on Instagram that they will not be re-opening in June and will be closing in the coming weeks.
"We miss having day-to-day interactions with all of you, and one of the pleasures of owning a brick and mortar is just meeting all walks of life and talking about music and life. Record stores are many peoples home away from home and music, to many, is a way of life and not just a hobby. We will be not be re-opening the shop to the public in June and will be closing in the the next few weeks," the shop said in the post.
Steady Sounds will transition to online sales on the record selling site Discogs and selling from Instagram for the foreseeable future.
Anyone interested in setting up an appointment to shop before the closure can message the shop on Instagram to schedule one beggining Monday May 25. Curbside pickup will also continue for "the next few weeks."
Partner store Blue Bones Vintage will remain open.
"I think I speak for the entire staff past and present that we will miss seeing you all and serving the Richmond record community," the post read. "Thanks for a fantastic 10 years!"
