Police: Man tried to rob Chesterfield Burger King; stole worker's cellphone

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police said no one was injured when a man tried to rob a fast-food restaurant in Chesterfield County Sunday night.

Officers were called to to the Burger King at 1736 East Hundred Road around 9:10 p.m.

A man walked into the restaurant, approached the cashier and demanded money, Lt. M.R. Dunn with Chesterfield Police said.

"The suspect then went behind the counter and took the cashiers cell phone," Dunn said. "The suspect then fled the scene."

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing between 300-350 pounds.

Police said the suspect, who did not show a weapon, was wearing a black hoodie with a white t-shirt, dark pants and black ski mask.

Police said their investigation into the crime is ongoing.
