PETERSBURG, Va. -- A 23-year-old Colonial Heights man suffered serious injuries after he sped away from a Virginia State Police trooper on Interstate 95.

On February 26, 2020 at approximately 7:59 a.m. a trooper in his marked patrol car was traveling southbound I-95 at the 50 mile marker when the trooper observed a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by, Nicholas K. "The trooper activated his emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop. Labriola refused to stop and a pursuit ensued."

The pursuit continued from I-95 south near Wagner Road to Route 460 near Stedman Road.

"[There] Labriola struck a 2002 Acura 2-door sedan in the rear as it was traveling in the left lane," the spokesperson said. "Labriola was wearing a helmet and was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The adult male driver of the Acura was wearing his seat belt and did not sustain injuries."
