RICHMOND, Va. -- The 17th annual Puppy Bowl is still a go this year, despite the pandemic, and once again, a local dog will be competing.
Alabama, who lives with her family in Mechanicsville, has been selected for the games. She will be competing on Team Fluff under her adopted name, Milky Way.
She's 6-months-old and was adopted from Operation Paws for Homes. Her owner says she was named after the band Alabama Shakes.
"She's a total socialite and made for these games," said Erin.
The Puppy Bowl is set to air Sunday, February 7 on Animal Planet and Discovery ahead of the Super Bowl.
River City Roll is also hosting a watch party. Reservations can be made online, and pets are welcome.
