Man shot to death in Amelia County

AMELIA COUNTY, Va. -- An investigation is underway after deputies found a man shot to death in Amelia County Saturday night

Officials with the Amelia County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called for a report of a gunshot victim in the 11000 block of Genito Road near the Appomattox River at 11:55 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they found a 31-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

"There is currently no available suspect information and no arrests have been made," deputies said.

No additional details were available at last check Sunday morning.

The sheriff’s office and the Virginia State Police are investigating.
