RICHMOND, Va. -- Giving Tuesday is a worldwide celebration of generosity during the holiday season.

Now more than ever, non-profits and organizations that make a difference in our communities need your support. During the pandemic, many organizations they have faced challenges, but have continued to help those in need.

One local organization, the Virginia Home takes care of more than 100 residents with permanent and physical disabilities.

The Virginia House says 40% of their budget comes from donations.

This year they have seen an increase cost in equipment, PPE, and infection control.

One of the ways Virginians can help make sure the Virginia House can continue to take care of their residents safely, is by donating.

“Its a wonderful time to give back. It's a wonderful time to make a difference in our community and I know there are many organizations, including the Virginia Home that would put those dollars to great work,” said Michael “Mickey” Dowdy, Vice President for Advancement at The Virginia Home.
