RICHMOND, Va. -- The City of Richmond will be closed from March 17 to March 20, while essential city services will continue.

Essential city services like Police and Fire, Public Works, and EMS, among others, will continue to operate.

The closures are designed to ensure the health and safety of residents, employees and the general public, the city said in a statement. Designated personnel will report for work, and operations to ensure public safety and public health will not be impacted.

A spokesperson for the City said that more information will be released on Tuesday.
