Chesterfield man dies more than week after crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Chesterfield Police say the driver injured after striking a tree nearly two weeks ago has died.

The single-vehicle crash occurred in the area of Brandermill Parkway and Genito Road at about 10 p.m. on March 18, 2020.

“A 2014 Chrysler Town and Country van was traveling on Brandermill Parkway when its driver lost control and it struck a tree in the median just south of Genito Road,” said a police spokesperson. “The driver, Dean R. French, 29, was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries”

French, of Riverbirch Trace Road, died on March 27 as a result of injuries.

Police say the crash remains under investigation.
