Burglary suspect at standoff with police in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – A barricade situation is underway at a Chesterfield County apartment complex after police attempted to serve a burglary warrant.

Officers responded to the Falling Creek Apartments in the 2500 block of Marina Drive to serve warrants on a burglary suspect.

Police say the suspect entered a vacant apartment and has refused to come out.

Investigators say there is no indication that anyone is in the apartment with him.

SWAT team members have arrived at the scene and are trying to get the suspect to surrender.
