RICHMOND, Va. -- Residents of Fairmont House in Richmond's Church Hill neighborhood were delivered boxes of nonperishable foods on Friday thanks to a partnership between Senator Joe Morrissey and Costco.

Senator Morrissey, his staff, and a team of volunteers successfully delivered boxes of nonperishable food including cereal, pasta, granola, oatmeal, fruit juice, crackers, trail mix, breakfast bars, peanut butter, and cases of water. Tables were set up in front of the entrance to Fairmount House so as to better accommodate each resident.

“Today was our 9th food bank giveaway that my team and I were able to effectively complete," Morrissey said. "Although I have been able to facilitate giveaways over the past couple of months, I am imploring anyone with the means to go out into your community and help at least one senior citizen in-need every day. While we are entering the third month of the stay-at-home order, there are still many residents in the surrounding area who need help and supplies.”
