AMELIA COUNTY, Va. -- An Amelia Courthouse man is crediting his love of chocolate milkshakes for winning more than a half million dollars from the Virginia Lottery.

John Morrison says he thankful for Sheetz's chocolate milkshakes. That's what brought him to the Sheetz at 4201 Anderson Highway in Powhatan on the evening of November 17.

Along with the shake, Morrison picked up a Cash 5 with EZ Match ticket from the Virginia Lottery.

Not only did he get his beloved milkshake, he won a jackpot worth $564,000.

Morrison matched all five winning numbers in that night’s drawing: 3-12-17-18-31. The Amelia man used Easy Pick, allowing the computer to randomly select his numbers.

“Everybody’s been talking about this new game,” said Morrison. “You’ve got to be in it to win it!”

Morrison, who is retired, hinted that there may be a new car in his future. Other than that, he says he has no immediate plans for his winnings.

Morrison is Cash 5 with EZ Match's first jackpot winner. The game features a rolling jackpot, starting at a minimum of $100,000. If nobody matches all five winning numbers, the jackpot increases for the next drawing.

The odds of matching all five numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 749,398.
