LONDON -- British police are hunting a male suspect after one man was killed and seven people were injured in late-night stabbings in a busy nightlife district in Birmingham.
Police said they were searching for a lone male suspect in what appeared to be random attacks in the central English city.
West Midlands Police said officers were called to reports of a stabbing shortly after midnight.
That was soon followed by reports of other stabbings in the area.
Police say they believe the stabbings are linked.
Two of the seven injured, a man and a woman, suffered serious injuries.
Police said there is no indication the stabbings are terror-related.
