ASHLAND Va. -- A Central Virginia teenager was a finalist to be featured in the "Graduate Together: High School class of 2020 Commencement" television special broadcast Saturday.
The virtual event, created by Lebron James and XQ Institute, featured commencement speeches from former President Barack Obama along with celebrities, musicians and athletes.
The broadcast also featured videos created by graduating seniors from across the country.
Patrick Henry High School senior Jamie Hughes' videowas a finalist to be featured in last night's tribute.
While she did not make the final cut, her video is being featured on the Virginia Department of Education's website.
The short documentaries, made by several students, were part of a class project.
