RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia has received its largest shipment yet of the antiviral drug Remdesivir from the federal government over the weekend.
The drug has been shown to help patients fighting COVID-19 and will be distributed to hospitals across the state.
State Health Commissioner Dr. Norm Oliver said that a lottery system will be used to determine which patients get access to the drug, but that more shipments will be arriving soon.
