BJ's Wholesale Club giving Virginia employees $2/hour raise, bonuses

RICHMOND, Va. – BJ's Wholesale Club will increase wages and bonuses for frontline team members in Virginia and across the country.

The membership-based warehouse club announced Monday that all hourly team members in the company’s clubs, distribution centers and home office will earn an additional $2 per hour for each hour worked beginning March 23, 2020 through at least April 12, 2020.

In addition to the wage increase for team members, managers and key personnel in the clubs and distribution centers will receive a one-time bonus, ranging from $500 to $1,000 at the end of March.

The company says they have also set up an employee relief fund, available to team members facing financial hardship and most impacted by the coronavirus

The company also announced the BJ's Charitable Foundation is donating $500,000 to support local and national organizations providing essential services to support those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are 13 BJ's Wholesale Club locations in Virginia, including locations in Henrico County and Mechanicsville. There are 218 locations across the US.
