2nd Richmond Police officer tests positive for COVID-19

RICHMOND, Va. – A second Richmond Police officer has tested positive for COVID-19, the department confirmed.

The patient is a male in his forties who worked at the First Precinct.

Richmond Police say several other First Precinct officers have been asked to self-quarantine. A RPD spokesperson says adjustments have been made and staffing remains adequate.

This second cases comes after a First Precinct officer tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week. The officer, who is in her 40s, traveled to New York before getting sick.

Police say the First Precinct headquarters has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
