HANOVER COUNTY, Va. -- Every day, CBS 6 tells stories about the people of Central Virginia.

Mya Santini is one of those people and her story stuck with senior reporter Wayne Covil.

As part of the CBS 6 Month of Giving, Wayne wanted to help make Mya's Christmas a little brighter.

He recruited two of the teenager's friends to pick out items they knew she'd like from Bath & Body Works.

Armed with lotions and candles, Wayne and Mya's friends surprised the liver transplant recipient while she was getting her hair cut.

"I've done two stories on you. I am amazed by you, your kindness towards your parents, and your concern for the donor and to his family," Wayne explained to the shocked teenager. "Channel 6 does CBS 6 Gives and you're who I wanted to give to this Christmas. You're such a wonderful person."

Mya's recently had the second liver transplant surgery of her young life.

The CBS 6 Month of Giving is made possible, in part, by Virginia Credit Union.
