RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a man wanted in connection with a shooting in Shockoe Bottom Monday night.
Kieran M. Nyangaresi, 22, also known as Ron, is wanted on charges of attempted murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Nyangaresi is described as a black male standing approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall. He is known to frequent the campus of Virginia Union University.
“The community quickly stepped up to help us identify this suspect,” said Major Crimes Sergeant Richard Edwards. “Now we’re hoping someone who knows his whereabouts will assist us in getting him off the streets.”

The shooting occurred around 11:40 in the 200 block of North 18th Street.
A Richmond ambulance crew assigned to Shockoe Bottom witnessed the shooting and was able to quickly respond to the victim and take him to the hospital.
The victim’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from an argument.
